You Can Look Fine Using A Web Cam - Try These Handy Tips by Douglass Kormann

Place the web camera at eye level to stop you peering downwards at the web camera. Why? To erase the double chin - that's why.
Do it yourself now. Pretend there is webcam on the floor and lower you head and look at it. Now feel under your chin. For some of us, not all, we have a small gathering of unwanted skin that has decided to present itself under the ole chin. If the camera is placed eye level or higher we are holding our heads higher to solve the double chin.
Light it up.
Do not align the light above you or behind. The light should appear from in front of you (behind the cam) or from the left or right, but not from behind. Most modern web cameras have been constructed with a mini light that lights up when your webcam is triggered - it is hardly enough. Put a lamp on a desk in front of you so that it shines on your face. Try different ways of lighting yourself. Natural light from a window is good if you are casting in the day hours and a normal desk lamp lamp in the evening will do just fine.
Um, where are you?
If you are going to video chat from your room, give it a tidy. If you going to cast from any room in your house be assured that others will form an opinion on you and your surroundings. If you are in a room with beer bottles, ash trays and pornographic film covers, it will give it away. Clean up, or video chat from a different room that you would find acceptable for others to broadcast from.
Do not be the creepy dude.
Nobody likes the creepy guy in a dark room on webcam. It creates a preconception of nasty images. Are they nasties in the night, murderers or cam bandits. Go on, sit in the dark and you can be the creepy guy.
Style your hair people.
When we head out into town to impress others most of us will style the do and dress up. What is so different about video chatting? Your first impression counts and if you are meeting somebody you are interested in - be interesting to them. Try a little.
Now, some timely advice.. Try cast from a spot you have made for webcam chatting every time. It should be a fast and easy process for you to get your lights, cam level and angles just correct so that you can go into a video chat with not a lot of preparation each time.
Nobody can tell you what to say when you do turn the webcam on. Some good advice is listen, smile and be friendly. What you would expect.
Be on your most appropriate behaviour. Treat anybody on cam how you would like to be treated - it is not hard or difficult to be nice and broadcast with respect.
