Sometimes living through a terrible date takes courage. It can
get so bad that you feel like stabbing yourself with a fork or walking into an
oncoming vehicle. When a date goes wrong you think of one million things you
could have done with your time, like simply sleeping.
There are many reasons this might happen. It may be that you
didn’t even want to go in the first place, your girlfriends forced you or you
decided to go just because the guy has been asking you out for like forever
then that just might be recipe for disaster. It could also be that the guy only
seemed awesome from afar- a little time with him revealed he is either boring
or just not your type.
So how do you escape the nightmare without faking a
heart attack?
The answer: do all you shouldn’t do on a first date!
Talking about your Ex
This is usually too much information for someone you just
meeting especially if you get into the nitty-gritty of how much you miss one of
them or the fun you two had together. No guy wants to compete with your ex.
Divulging too much
Give details about your life, like sharing your problems. You
two are barely dating so he wants to hear the good stuff, not the baggage you
carry. It might make you seem needy but do you really care as long as he goes
packing?
Keep talking
The purpose of a date is to get to know each other but when you
don’t let him talk, he gets frustrated.
Take the second date off the table
If you live through the date, then thank him for the evening and
go home. Intentionally ignore his attempt to get a second date.
Ask him pointed questions
Go for revealing topics like details about his ex. Dwell on the
topic even when he’s visibly feeling awkward.
